This footprint is completely incorrect for this device. Firstly, it does not have the thermal pad and then the pad size on pin 1 is different to the others. I have used it on my board and have a short circuit between Vcc and GND. Removing the device from the board takes away the short circuit.

Hi Elizabeth, I have just taken a look at the footprint now. It looks more correct now than the previous footprint however I will import it into Altium now to verify the footprint and then provide feedback accordingly. Hi Elizabeth, The datasheet for this device specifies the thermal area on the device as 1.75 x 3.1mm. I have imported the updated footprint into Altium and have seen that the copper area on the footprint measures 1.57 x 3.1mm. Can you please check whether there is a discrepancy between the two areas being 1.75mm and 1.57mm in width or whether this is correct as it is. Thank you, Regards Rakeshh Dhevalall.
We created this part following IPC-7351B standards, we did not follow the manufacturer recommended footprint layout. Would you like us to update this part following the recommended layout?
Apologies about the delayed response. I had to make some changes to my board layout and had used the manufacturer recommended footprint dimensions. I will give you feedback regarding the placement of the device once I get the boards back from assembly. In the mean time, I would suggest updating this part according to manufacturer specifications to avoid placement issues as I have noted out of specification variations with the IPC-7351B standard footprint. I could maybe try to get feedback from ST Microelectronics as well regarding this footprint.
