Blank Login Screen - KiCad

When I installed SnapEDA into KiCad, the Login window came up after the install with the normal graphics but the location at the bottom where you enter your user name and password was blank. So I closed the window but now when I try to open SnapEDA (Tools->External Plugins->SnapEDA), a completely blank window pops up (except for the SnapEDA and version 0.0.5.4 in the top left corner of the header) for a couple of seconds then disappears. Any ideas?

One more note if it matters, I'm using Windows 10 and my KiCad version is (5.0.1)-3.

Hello there,

Thanks for reaching us. Our team will replicate this issue, and we will get back to you once we have an update.

For now, please try reinstalling the plugin. To perform a clean uninstallation of the plugin, please follow the steps provided below:

1. Locate the directory C:/Users/<user_name>/SnapEDA Kicad Plugin
2. Inside the folder, delete the App folder, which contains most of the static files for the plugin to run.
3. You can delete the whole SnapEDA KiCad Plugin folder, but before doing that kindly read the WARNING message below.
WARNING: Deleting the KiCad Library will delete all the symbols/footprints and the 3D models you downloaded on your project.
4. To remove the SnapEDA Plugin from Kicad, go to C:\Program Files\KiCad\share\kicad\scripting\plugins and delete snapeda_plugin.py

Please try this workaround and let us know how it goes on your end.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. I uninstalled the plugin per your instructions, downloaded a fresh copy from snapeda.com, and tried to install again. I had the same problem where the login screen comes up with all the art work and "Welcome" "Sign in to access your account" message but no fields to enter my credentials. I saved a screen shot to show you but it doesn't appear that there is any way to upload it to this Q/A board. Also, when I try to run SnapEDA again after the failed installed I get completely blank log in window just like before.

Thanks for the update. Just to let you know, I decided to upgrade to KiCad version 5.1.12 and now the plugin is working as intended.
