Hi,
I'm using OrCAD layout v9.1
I've been looking at the instructions for downloading layout foot-prints for OrCAD Layout.
As far as I can tell, the instructions for OrCAD Layout only apply to the Allegro versions.
Do you have the means to supply footprints for OrCAD Layout v9.1 and/or v10?
Thank you,
Erik

Hello,
You can import a DXF file into it and get a symbol out of it. I have recorded a video to show you how to do this:

I have tried some way to import the footprint but they are not accurate, the first way I tried was that I got the DXF from OrCAD/Allegro 16.6 V (generated in it. I had to create a schematic and a PCB layout in OrCAD/Allegro 16.6 V) and I imported it into OrCAD Layout 9 V but did not work.
There is another way suggested by a user to open the .dra file in Orcad PCB editor (Lite) which yielded the footprint in PCB editor. Then you have to export the footprint out of Orcad as a DXF. I selected the following in the pop up Orcad DXF out settings. Name the file as you wish, set format to Revision 14, set units as you wish, select layer conversion type as ecad_mcad, then select the 1st four configuration boxes. Click on export and you will find the generated footprint in the source folder.
If I find the best way to import this parts into OrCAD Layout, I will let you know immediately, thanks for your time and understanding.
