Can somebody help me?
I have been using Altium Designer 18.1.9.
The P-CAD is installed, but when I dragged the .lia file noting happens.
I tried the Import Wizard, but when I was in the 'P-CAD Import Wizard' window, and I pressed 'Add' it opened the 'Load P-Cad Design Files' with the extension 'P-CAD Design Files (*.PCB;*.SCH)' for the 'File name', and the .lia files (contained in the folder) didn't appear.
If I changed the extension for the 'File name' to 'All Files (*.*)'. Now the .lia file from the folder appeared and could be selected in the window, but when I pressed Open I was prompted with this message "Design file '...." not recognized. Please select P-CAD PCB or schematic files".
It appears that something is wrong. What should I do?

Hi RobinAlmond,
When you dragged the .lia file, the Import Wizard window should pop up. Did it show on your end?

Hi Onis,
I think you should click Next twice, so you get Add P-Cad Library Files, not Add P-Cad Design Files, then you can import it Integrated Library within PCB Library.
Thanks

Hello Onis!
Thanks for reaching out. Have you tried dragging and dropping it on the Projects window?
ojiSWAN is correct! If you are trying the Import Wizard, you need to add the .lia file in the 'Importing P-CAD Libraries' window and not in the 'Importing P-CAD Designs' window. You should skip P-CAD Design Libraries window by just clicking 'Next' so that you can proceed with P-CAD Libraries window.
Let me know if you need further assistance in importing.

Hi,
I had a similar problem with 19.0.15 in that I dragged a .lia file onto Altium's project window and nothing appeared to happen. When I gave up and went back to do some work I found it *had*been imported, just that it had been done invisibly.
Have a look see if it's actually arrived or not.

Did you have PA1010 part for altium ?

Hi rodrik,
Can you please provide us the exact part number of what you're looking for? We could not find anything with PA1010 part number or in the web.

Faust,
No pop-up, but the footprint was there afterwards.

Hi RobinAlmond,
Hmm. Have you tried doing the same step again? The import Wizard should show up.

Thanks ojiSwan -- that was devious. I had the same problem as the OP.
1. Once the wizard is started and you select P-Cad, the next screen is titled "Importing P-CAD Designs". DO NOT ADD A FILE; you are not trying to import a *design*. Just click Next.
2. The *next* screen is "Importing P-CAD Libraries". Now it will let you choose *.LIA files.
Good luck!
