Hi guys, My name is Kerellos and Iam a first year electronics engineering student and i was wondering how to improve myself in the electronics field such as the important courses to be taken or projects to be done or some techniques from experienced people in order to develop myself in the field. If anyone has experience, could he/she give me advice

Hi,
I think the best think you can do is to pick a certain project like for example a temperature thermostat and design it from ground zero.
I do recommand getting a breadboard and through hole components for the prototype. Search for simillar project on the internet just so you get started and read datasheets and application notes. Once you have a working prototype try and design a pcb for it using smd components. Get used with gerber files and what the pcb manufacturer has as requirements. Every step of this proccess is different and you will for sure learn a ton of things.
Good luck!

Read lots of datasheets and app-notes. There's a ton of really useful information about the specs, applications, layout considerations, design examples etc in datasheets. ADI, LT, TI etc all have very good datasheets packed with useful information and they are great to learn from. They're also way more fun to read than published papers in journals. Read datasheets from a wide array of devices: precision analog (opamps, references etc), data converters (all types), power devices (buck/boost/offline/sepic etc), microcontrollers, sensors, passive components etc.
EAGLE CAD is free (for 2-layer 8cmx10cm boards). pcbway.com will manufacture boards for $5 (2-layer 10cmx10cm boards). They'll even stuff the boards for $30 for 5. You can't beat that. Pick a project that incorporates things you're interested in and do it. In 2020, electronics is a pretty cheap hobby.
