Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a quick tip for anyone installing the new KiCad plugin. We've found an issue on *some* Linux installations whereby they don't come pre-installed with the required dependencies/modules needed. As a result, upon the "Refresh Plugins" step, you won't see the plugin installed.
We are aware of the issue and actively working on a fix. In the meantime, you can run:
sudo apt-get install python3-tk
sudo apt-get install imagemagick
That should resolve the issue. We will keep everyone updated on a fix.
Again, this is a rare edge case that just affects *some* versions of Linux. There are no known issues with Windows. As for Mac, we have a Mac version in development too.
Keep us posted if you find any other issues, and if you'd like to be more involved in our development process, just reach out to me and I'll add you to our Slack channel. :-)

This problem affected me, and meant that the plugin didn't show up. I had python3 and imagemagick but I didn't have python3-tk. Once that package was installed, the plugin appeared in the "External Plugins" section of the Tools menu in PCBNew.
It's worth saying that this fix applies to debian/ ubuntu (or other distributions that use apt packages.
Thank you @Natasha! Could I suggest you add this to the linux install instructions on the plugin download page? If the packages are already installed then "sudo apt-get install python3-tk imagemagick" won't hurt anyway.
Thank you!
