Mentorgraphics Expedition

Hello there,

Currently we don't support MentorGraphics Xpedition, but it is on our board of requested features, and we will let you know once it is implemented.

MentorGraphics offers a converter from Xpedition to PADS which was free of charge (we are not currently sure now), but it is not automatically included in licenses.

Please contact Mentor Support to get the license.

I have an answer for you but their are several steps you have to take. Download your part in the PADS version. Mentor has great translators that take PADS libraries into Xpedition. The translator is free and comes with your Xpedition tool suite. Just follow the directions of the translate tool and it will create .hkp files ( encrypted ascii) You will have a cell.hkp, a padstack.hkp, and a part.hkp (parts database) Once you have the .hkp files use library services tool while in the LMC to import your part into your LMC and your good to go.

Snapeda gives me a PADS .c, .d and .p file nothing I can translate. Darn I thought this was the perfect workaround. The translators are looking for a .pcb or a .lmc file
