I was using snapeda plugin happily with AD for months but all of a sudden it gave me an error in running script pointing to the line "For Each objItem in colItems" in file "snapinterpreter.vbs". Tried to uninstall the plugin and got the Runtime ERROR pointing to SWbemObjectSet. Resetting Windows Management Instrumentation Depository didn't do any good. So removed the plugin using Revo Uninstaller and now when I try to install plugin again using latest installer that I downloaded from Snapeda website gives the same error...
Never seen such thing before!...

Altium Designer 23.5.1
Added 1 year, 10 months ago.
Hello,
I have same problem with Altium 23.8.1 (updated from 21.x yesterday)
It stops at following code line:
Sub SnapEDAPluginCreate(Sender)
' Get the resolution of the screen before starting the plugin to enable the
' scrollbars in case the screen is too small for the window.
' TODO: use a different method to resize the whole Window and keep the content
' responsive
Dim objWMIService
Dim colItems
Dim objItem
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:\\.\root\cimv2")
Set colItems = objWMIService.ExecQuery("Select * from Win32_DesktopMonitor",,48)
For Each objItem in colItems
The error message is empty. A 'recent.txt' does not exist in the specified folder.
If I try to reinstall a new downloaded SnapEDA-AD-Plugin.exe (11.03.2021) following error appears:
"Runtime error (at 1:801): SWbemObejctSet: Ungültige Klasse"
Last two words are german for invalid class.

Hi there,
We are trying to replicate your error with Altum Designer 23.5.1 and the SnapEDA plugin. We will get back to you as soon as we have a solution.
Meantime, can you please locate the 'recent.txt' on this directory 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\SnapEDA Altium Plugin\recent.txt' and let us know if it's present or not? If yes, please send us the 'recent.txt' file" at this email
Best regards,

Hi,
Unfortunately I have removed all files and registry entries related to the plugin using Revo Uninstaller...

Hi there,
This is Ron, stepping in for Oscar. Is that possible if you can try to install the plugin again? If you are still getting the same error, please check the logs again and send it to us. Also, if you have a screenshot of the error, please send it to so we can further investigate.
Thanks!
Ron

Hello Again,
We are trying to reproduce this and it seems that we are not getting the same error messages while using the plugin for the version of Altum Designer 23.5.1.
We understand that you deleted the app through Revo Uninstaller but we only ask you for the logs again because this will really help us to resolve your case. To clarify, we only ask you to kindly install and run the plugin again since it will also regenerate the logs that you created. Once we have the logs, we will forward this to our developers and see if they can find the root cause and you can send it through the email that we have provided and the same with the screenshot that you have encountered.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for reaching out! I will be forwarding this to our team so we can further investigate this error message. Can you confirm that the version that you used earlier is 3.0.5?
Kind regards,
Ron

Yes I can confirm that the installed version is 3.0.5.
Answered 1 year, 10 months ago.
I've mentioned in my first post that "when I try to install plugin again using latest installer that I downloaded from Snapeda website gives the same error" meaning I'm unable to install the plugin again let alone sending the log file produced after installation...

Hi Titanium_akt,
Thanks for the clarification and we do apologized for the back and forth. Our team is now checking this and we will keep you posted for more updates!

Hello, this is Carlos stepping for Ron and Oscar.
You're welcome, we've tested the Plugin on both Altium versions, but we couldn't replicate the results that you got. Nevetheless, we have elevated the cases to our software engineers to see if they can find a workaround to solve this issue.

Why you have changed my question topic?
My initial topic was "Snapeda AD plugin ERROR" ant you have changed to this irrelevant topic! Why is that? I have no questios! I'm reporting an error that apparently is not limited to me and others also have this issue...
Answered 1 year, 10 months ago.
This is because the team moderates your question based on the content of it, to better match it with what is requested. However, I do agree that the title our team set is misleading, and I've changed it to better fit the content.
I do apologize for the inconveniences.

For me this worked:

I have executed all commands on that page in order and restarted my PC. Hope it works for the others too...
