Regarding if it actually works same as the INMP441 Module

0

First of all thank you for the blueprint

Secondly, no offense to your skills
It is my first time designing any PCB and am very skeptical about its working like the actual module I have.
The internet says that this module have a diaphragm which helps us to detects voice, i wanted to know if I just slam this blueprint into my PCB with correct wirings and design, will it actually work as a mic when I order it? Does it have the "diaphragm" they talk about?
That's just for my personal understanding and I don't mean no offense to the engineers who built this.

Regards

Hello Harsh Jain,

No offense taken — good question to ask before ordering.

What we provide is a CAD model: the symbol tells your schematic tool the pinout, and the footprint tells the fab where the copper pads go. The diaphragm is inside the INMP441 chip itself, which you buy from a distributor. Your module is that same chip on a small breakout PCB — your board replaces that breakout.

Three things to get right:

1) Acoustic port hole.
The INMP441 is bottom-ported — the sound inlet faces your PCB, so the board needs a hole under it (flip your module over and you'll see it). Our CAD model already includes this: a 0.75 mm port hole, within the datasheet's recommended 0.5–1 mm range. Just download it and place it on your board — nothing to add manually. Make sure your enclosure doesn't block the hole.

2) Place a 0.1 µF X7R cap between VDD (pin 7) and GND, close to the pin. Supply is 3.3 V, not 5 V.

3) L/R pin tied to GND or VDD to pick the channel — don't leave it floating. SCK/WS/SD go to your host's I²S pins.

Do that and it'll work like your module.
