According to IPC standards, there are three types of annular rings: internal supported, external supported, and external unsupported. What is the difference between these three types of annular rings?

"Supported" is IPC speak for plated-through-hole.
"Unsupported" is IPC speak for non-plated-through-hole.

External refers to the copper pad on the outer layers of the board.

Internal refers to the copper pad on internal layers of a multilayer board.
