Why are there extra pins in the schematic symbol?

0

On the Altium .intlib Pin 34 is duplicated 7 times. Pin 35 is duplicated 7 times. Pin 33 is duplicated 11 times. Pin 36 three times. This makes the part too large to use so I have to go edit the library to get rid of all the duplicates.

Those pins don't even exist in the part datasheet it's a 32 pin part. For example for PVin it lists pins 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. Your schematic lists pins 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and also 34, and 34_1 through 34_6. You have doubled the number of pins compared to the datasheet.

Thanks for reaching out. Upon checking the part, it seems to be correct and following the manufacturer's recommendations. As you may notice in the datasheet, some signals have many pads appended, that's why you see pins 5,6,7,8,9,10,11. Also, we added the vias recommended by the manufacturer on the exposed pads and they are appended to the electric signal where they are located, in this case: PVin, SW, and PGnd. This is the reason why you see more pins in the schematic, the 33_1, 33_2, 34_1, etc. correspond to the vias

Fair enough we will just agree to disagree. I don't see why the manufactures recommendation requires the extra pins, we remade this and achieved the same functionality and it takes up half as much space.
