Why do you say footprint is available and then not show it on the part page?

If you had some thing where i could draw a simple symbol and make an accurate footprint i'd just do it as i went if you didnt have them.

but you dont. so i have to make it myself in eagle and then however many other people that need to use the part also have to make it.

save lots of time if some of us engineers that have been doing precision cad work and such for a decade or better could just make the foot prints and symbols on here.

i figured it out. im uploading all the parts i make.

they look a little funky on here but its all nice and pretty in autodesk eagle.

im just quickly sketching the symbol and stuff to match the data sheet and making sure all the pins line up.

some of my pads are ever so slightly over-sized to make soldering easier or help make it easier to connect a trace to it/cool it.

hope this helps someone!

Hello Kevin!

This is Elizabeth, CAD manager at SnapEDA. First of all, thanks for your feedback, we really appreciate it!

I took a look at your connectors and IC parts and I was impressed with the quality of them. It looks like all the pin types are set up as I/O, we set them up as passive! I really like the drawing if your symbols, great attention to detail! I guess that you are saying they look a little funky because of how our viewer translate your CAD models so they are visible in our website and that's completely fine because our viewer was designed to interpret parts based on these recommendations:

Best Practices for sharing parts with the community:
- Follow the same standards as SnapEDA when creating the part: https://www.snapeda.com/standards/

I also noticed the over-sized pad in the footprints, is that something you would like us to integrate as part of our standards? or maybe if we give you the option to choose the over-size value for the pads upon download?

The last thing I wanted to share is that our footprint linking system tries to find a similar (if not the same) package in the pages that don't have CAD models, however, if the match is not very accurate and you are visiting the page, our system automatically removes the footprint. It is not ideal so we are still working on an update so we are sorry that you had this experience, we will keep you posted!

Thanks a lot and have a great week!
Elizabeth
