I'm using OrCAd Allegro 16.6 Pad Designer to manually gererate a padstack used by the package script. I copied the psx file in the footprint download to the directory pointed to by user psmpath and padpath. Then I run the padstack script which gives an error message. I've noticed that 16.6 uses sha files for shapes; is this a case of 16.6 not being backward compatible with the older psx shape files?

Checked out the allegro.bat file in the download and see that .psx file has to be run as a script in PCB Editor, ...duh.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for your message. Yes, the psx file has to be run as a script in Allegro, so you have to go to the file > script, next you have to copy the path to the files you are unzipped for this part, in Allegro, select Setup > User Preferences, in category: Library, click ... after padpath. The Items window shows where you should place a copy of the downloaded .zip archive file contents. Restart Allegro upon making changes to the padpath settings.
